UI/UX Developer (UID) – Job Requirements and Description

Job Overview:

A UI/UX Developer is responsible for designing and developing user interfaces (UI) that provide a seamless and visually appealing user experience (UX). The role involves collaborating with designers, developers, and product teams to create functional and aesthetically engaging digital products.

Job Responsibilities:

1. User Interface (UI) Development

Develop intuitive and responsive user interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js, etc.).
Create visually appealing designs while ensuring consistency with branding guidelines.
Implement animations, transitions, and micro-interactions to enhance UI engagement.
Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.

2. User Experience (UX) Design

Conduct user research and analyze behavior to design user-friendly interfaces.
Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes using tools like Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or Balsamiq.
Conduct usability testing and iterate designs based on user feedback.
Optimize interfaces for usability, accessibility, and intuitive navigation.

3. Front-end Development: (UI/UX Developer)

Convert UI/UX designs into working front-end code.
Collaborate with backend developers to integrate APIs and data services.
Optimize application performance by implementing efficient coding practices.
Utilize CSS preprocessors like SASS/LESS for scalable styling.
Implement responsive designs with Bootstrap, TailwindCSS, or other frameworks.

4. Collaboration and Communication: (UI/UX Developer)

Work closely with product managers, designers, and developers to align UI/UX with business objectives.
Communicate design ideas and prototypes effectively to stakeholders.
Provide UI/UX solutions that balance user needs and technical feasibility.

5. Testing and Optimization: (UI/UX Developer)

Conduct A/B testing and collect feedback to refine UI/UX.
Identify and resolve UI bugs and performance issues.
Ensure accessibility compliance (WCAG, ADA) for users with disabilities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Skills

UI Technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+)
Front-end Frameworks: React.js, Vue.js, Angular, or similar
Design Tools: Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator
CSS Frameworks: Bootstrap, TailwindCSS, Material UI
Version Control: Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket
Prototyping Tools: InVision, Balsamiq, Axure
Responsive Design: Mobile-first approach, Flexbox, Grid
Testing & Debugging: Chrome DevTools, Lighthouse, Jest, Cypress

Soft Skills: (UI/UX Developer)

Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, UI/UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
Relevant certifications in UI/UX design, front-end development, or design tools (Google UX Design, Adobe Certifications) are a plus.

Experience Level:

Junior: 1-3 years of experience.
Mid-Level: 3-5 years of experience.
Senior: 5+ years of experience with advanced UI/UX strategy and development.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Knowledge of UI/UX for mobile applications (Android/iOS).
Familiarity with motion UI and animations (GSAP, Lottie).
Understanding of SEO and web accessibility standards.

Salary Range (Approximate)

Entry-Level: $50,000 – $70,000 per year
Mid-Level: $70,000 – $100,000 per year
Senior-Level: $100,000 – $140,000 per year (Varies by location and company size.)
